White House correspondents elect new board members

The White House Correspondents Association elected three new members to its nine-member board Thursday: Carol Lee of the Wall Street Journal, Olivier Knox of Yahoo News and Major Garrett of CBS.

All will serve three years.

Lee also was elected to serve as president in 2015-2016, the third year of her term.

The WHCA represents the White House press corps in logistics such as arranging the press pools that closely follow the president and planes for those traveling with the president. It also sponsors an annual dinner and scholarships for journalism students.
