President Obama told a crowd near Asheville, N.C., that he loves the city so much it comes up when he and first lady Michelle Obama are talking post presidency plans.
"Michelle and I always talk about how after this whole presidency thing, we're looking for a little spot," he said Wednesday, adding after an audience member shouted out an invite: "Come on down? Play a little golf, do a little hiking, fishing, barbecue."
He noted there were "two things" that kept him returning: "I really like the people. And No. 2 is 12 Bones, which I will be stopping on the way back to the airport." (Indeed, a later pool report noted that WH staff picked up barbeque for the president and staff.)
But this weekend, Obama will be kicking back in Palm Beach, Florida, where he'll be "relaxing with some friends," White House spokesman Josh Earnest said.
"The president's going to enjoy President's Day weekend with some friends...I don't think the American people will begrudge him that," Earnest said after a reporter asked him about monied interests in West Palm. There's no work on the president's President's Day weekend, Earnest said.

Asheville may be a good choice for the President. I just noticed that Retirement and Good Living selected Asheville as one of the top retirement locations for 2013
