There was nothing on President Obama's public schedule for the day -- but he and First Lady hosted "friends and supporters" in anticipation of the inaguration, the White House pool report says.
The White House was not exactly forthcoming on the details, according the White House pool report. The pooler says the White House was asked to confirm that the first couple attended a national finance committee-organized "Benefactors' Brunch," along with a "reception" for supporters -- both in the White House.
The response from a White House official, per the pool report: "As is commonplace with past Administration [sic] of both parties, the President and First Lady today hosted friends and supporters at the White House in advance of the President’s Inauguration weekend. The event was paid for by the Presidential Inaugural Committee."
