Biden to host online chat about gun control

Continuing President Obama's efforts to reduce gun violence, Vice President Joe Biden will participate in a live Google+ hangout Thursday afteroon.

The online chat with people across the nation comes a day before he travels to Richmond to begin trying to sell the administration's proposals on gun control.

Last week, Obama proposed banning assault weapons, limiting ammunition magazines to 10 rounds, requiring background checks on all gun purchases, penalizing those who buy guns from unlicensed dealers, hiring 1,000 more school resource officers and spending millions more on training, research and counseling.

The online event will be streamed live at 1:45 here.
