Bipartisan group of former leaders calls for solution to fiscal problems

A bipartisan group of former members of Congress penned an op-ed in the Washington Post today, calling on lawmakers to work together to find a solution to the nation's fiscal problems.

"We have faced similar challenges in the past and, by working together, with the cooperation and acquiescence of the American people, we met the challenges and got seemingly intractable problems straightened out," they wrote. "We believe the present generation of leaders can do this again, in the
process fostering robust economic growth and furthering what we believe will be the great American comeback."

The group includes former speakers of the House, former House majority leader, former House minority leader and former Senate majority leaders.
