President Obama was taken by surprise when former Secretary of State Colin Powell endorsed him last week in an interview with CBS News.
This week, the president has released a radio ad highlighting Powell's support.
The ad will air in Florida, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Virginia, New Hampshire, Ohio, Iowa, Nevada and Colorado.
"I think this is an exciting race between two very, very capable men, and I signed on for a long patrol with President Obama, and I don’t think this is the time to make such a sudden change," he said.

four star general colin powel has turned into a first year boy scout as far as I am concerned. He supposed to be a military guy yet this once well respected man is supporting a half black and half white man who watched as it happened our american ambassador get raped and murdered and then DENIED the begging for assistanced and he and Hillary and colin powell stood next to the bodies of those american heros as they landed in dover and lied to teir parents and families and friends and American people and continued to lie. So colin Powel no more respect for you four stars or your character because you sold your sole to this evil man and didnt stand up for our heros. FOR GREAT SHAME ON YO AND IF ANYTHING GENERAL YOU SHOULD GIVE BACK YOUR STARS AND PAY YO DONT DESERVE T YU MAKE ME SICK.

Truly a non-event in the election. Secretary Powell is beyond influencing anybody; it is a pure race based vote.
However, it goes a long way to finally destroying his personal reputation.
As an Officer, Powell was a brave man and a decorated combat veteran. But Powell is in a position to know exactly what happened in Benghazi, and it appears that Obama made the conscious decision, that for political reasons, he would let those guys die rather than provide them with air cover. Obama’s actions are dishonorable and fly in the face of US military tradition and practice; Leave No Man Behind isn’t just an expression to the military. “Keeping the faith” with our troops in the field is essential to keeping the military functional.
