The Obama campaign is slapping back at what it calls "over the top," "erroneous" attack ads by Mitt Romney's "Big Oil allies," by hitting Romney for holding a Swiss bank account.
The 30-second spot, "Swiss Bank Account" defends Obama's clean energy initiatives and paints Romney as a corporate overseer who shipped jobs overseas and is "still pushing tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas. It's just what you'd expect from a guy who had a Swiss bank account."
The spot will air in Iowa and in Virginia and Ohio -- where Obama will hold his first campaign rallies Saturday. The ad follows one from Americans for Prosperity, a Romney Super PAC, that attacked Obama for investing in green energy. The campaign notes the ads have been scored by various fact finding sites as misleading.
