Ann Romney fought back Thursday, answering an assertion from a key Democratic activist that she had never worked a day in her life.
"I know what it's like to struggle and maybe I haven't struggled as much financially as some people, have but I can tell you that I've had struggles in my life," Romney told Fox News Thursday. "I would love to have people understand that Mitt and I have compassion for people that are struggling and that's why we're running."
Romneyy, the wife of presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She is also a breast cancer survivor.
"My career choice was to be a mother and I think all of us need to know we need to respect choices women make," Romney said.
The furor began when Hilary Rosen,, a top Democratic activist, told CNN Wednesday that Romney was unable to related to ordinary women because she did not work while helping bring up her five sons.

The blog article very surprised to me! Your writing is good.

The operative word here is CHOOSING. Ann Romney chose to stay home and raise a family, albeit with servants and no financial worries. No problem with that. Good for her. She has a lovely family. What she seems to miss is that MOST women who have children in this economy do not CHOOSE between work and staying home. They work to help feed their families, because single salaries just don't cut it. There is no comparison between Ann Romney's experience an that of the other 99% of mothers. Let's get real about this.

In today's world you do not have a comfortable option of running a family with 'one' salary. No possibility at all. There will be complications. The old role of women was homemaker only. It is not so now. She is a career woman too.

I choose to be a mother too!
I'm still a mother despite having a job!
Seriously, from one Ann to another; please don't define motherhood so narrowly!
Children of working moms tend to have higher self esteem, but I chose (and was super lucky) to stay home for a few years & work part time till the kids were a bit older. Because I'm a FEMINIST, I respect all women's rights to choose what is best for their family!!
Ms. Romney, I resent your ascertion that choosing motherhood rules out working! Why couldn't you just say you did what you felt was best but respect other's choices and ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO HAVE NO CHOICE!

Except for the choices of poor women to be able to visit planned parenthood.
Just some mormon compassion from a silver spoon fed whore.
