Pew poll finds most Americans draw a blank on Romney's Etch a Sketch

His Republicans rivals and Democrats had a field day last week suggesting that remarks by an advisor to Mitt Romney could put a dent in his campaign -- by reinforcing an image of Romney as quick to change his stances.

But a new poll by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press finds that 55 percent of respondents said they've not heard about the story: a gaffe by a top strategist who said Romney would recalibrate his campaign once he wins the GOP nomination, shaking the slate clean like an Etch A Sketch toy.

And among Republicans and independents who heard about the comments, most say the remark would not change their view of Romney. So what does that mean for this week's Twitter-versy, that Romney plans to build a "car lift" at his La Jolla digs?
