Newt Gingrich says he wants to bring back John Bolton

The former House Speaker says he'd like to have the former US ambassador to the UN under George W. Bush serve as his Secretary of State.

The ultraconservative Bolton -- who wanted to scrap the UN -- briefly considered a run for the presidency himself. The mention of his name got a rousing reception from the crowd at the Republican Jewish Coalition -- which today featured six of the GOP presidential hopefuls bashing the Obama administration's policy toward Israel.

The rising Republican also suggested he wants a series of Lincoln-Douglas debates with the president -- if he's the nominee. Seven, three-hour contests -- at which he joked he'd let Obama use a teleprompter.
