Sen. John McCain, President Barack Obama's Republican rival for president last year, said Sunday it's unlikely the GOP can now stop the Senate Democratic health care bill.
Asked if anything can be done to derail the Democrats, he told "Fox News Sunday," the Arizona senator said, "Probably not. But what we can do is continue winning the battle of American public opinion."
Republicans have been stressing recent polls showing pluralities of Americans are wary of the Democratic plan. But since Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson said Saturday he plans to go along with the 57 other Democrats and two independents who plan to back the bill, it's almost assured of passage later this week.
But, vowed McCain, "We'll fight the good fight. We will fight until the last vote. We owe that to our constituents, because we can't -- we must do everything. We must look back and say, "We did everything we can to prevent this terrible mistake from taking place."

The worst mistake was McShame even getting into congress much less staying there.Look at the Dems they allow dissension and the repugs do not , everyone must walk in lock step just like the fascist of Germany did.

jgrimaldo you are so right and why some people can't see this is beyond me.J has never IMO been country first,he has always been for himself.I have read links to people who were POW with him and their stories are different than JM are and not for the good as far as he is concerned.many say he helped the enemy by giving them flight paths for our air force for better treatment. Don't know how true these claims are but if so he has never been country first.

The mistake was going to war which JM agreed to which will cost more money than this health bill. The money spent going to war cost lifes, but the money spent on health care is to safe lifes and that must be why Mr.JM is against it.
