Obama group hits back at Palin

President Barack Obama’s political operation shot back at Sarah Plain Friday, saying she sets the agenda for the right and that she’s using the publicity surrounding her book tour to try to stop health care legislation with false attacks.

“Right now, Sarah Palin is on a highly publicized, nationwide book tour, attacking President Obama and his plan for health reform at every turn,” said an email from Mitch Stewart, director of Organizing for America, Obama’s political operation.

“It's dangerous. Remember, this is the person who coined the term `Death Panels’ -- and opened the flood gates for months of false attacks by special interests and partisan extremists.

“Whatever lie comes next will be widely covered by the media, then constantly echoed by right-wing attack groups and others who are trying to defeat reform.”

Stewart, who used the warning as a pitch to raise $500,000, said Palin is getting loads of free publicity on conservative radio and TV shows at the very moment when health care legislation is facing key votes in the Congress.

“As we approach the final sprint on health reform, we can't afford more deception and delay. We need to be ready for anything -- and have the resources to respond with ads, events, and calls to Congress when the attacks come,” he wrote.

“Earlier this month, Palin publicly said that she hopes health reform will be "dead on arrival." And since then, she's been working fiercely toward that goal.

“On Tuesday, Palin went on Rush Limbaugh's radio show where she outrageously -- and falsely -- suggested that Americans could "face jail time as punishment" if they don't buy insurance.

“Palin has many more interviews scheduled on Hannity and other conservative shows in the next few weeks, with more platforms to go after the President. As soon as she does, the rest of our opponents will likely parrot those attacks.”

Just like Jack Smith, and Martha Mann said. Give Obama a chance. So far what this man has done is have to turn everything around that Bush and his cronies took eight years to destroy. Bush took us from a balanced budget to being so far in dept that the GNOP believes that Obama was the cause of all of this. They never have learn to except responsibility for anything they have ever done wrong. It's always blame someone else for their goof ups. And with this goof ball Palin running around the world running her mouth over something she has no idea about what so ever is even worst. Wasn't she the one that said she could see Russia out her back door? And quit midterm as a governor of the State of Alaska. What in this world could anyone with any sense about themselves at all believe anything that Bimbo has to say. She's not smart enough that she could see that over half of the state of Indiana was making fun of her while she was running around here like a chicken with it's head cut off. And to brag about being on the Rush Limpballs show just shows even more how stupid and pathetic this broad really is. It would be nice to see her and Rush on a ticket in 2012. Obama would be reelected for sure hands down.

When is the press going to start calling the recessing what it really is--the Republican recession. The GOP brought this on by big tax cuts, an expensive war and massive deregulation that encouraged Wall Street to create a bubble. For the GOP to now complain about deficit spending is just dishonest. How stupid does the GOP think we are. And if the GOP is really so concerned bout health care, how come they did nothing when they controlled congress and the White Housie for so many years.

Martha Mann

Here you people go...comparing Reagan and Obama. There is no way to do such a thing fairly. Reagan was in office under an entirely different set of circumstances and he certainly did not inherit the mess Obama inherited from Bush! What took bush 8 years to screw up, is going to take a while to mend, repair and remake. Remember...Rome was not built in a day. Give President Obama a fighting chance. Hate and criticism will not change the situation, but common courtesy and a fighting chance would help. Give the man a break. You people have him up against a wall, having to fight the people he is trying to help and fighting the destruction Bush created. Could YOU perform to the best of your ability with someone trying to crucify you?
