GOP Chairman Steele still has qualms about Sotomayor

Looks like Republican party chairman Michael Steele still thinks Sonia Sotomayor was a poor choice for the U. S. Supreme Court.

Less than an hour after she was confirmed Thursday by a 68-31 Senate vote_all 31 no votes were Republicans_he issued this statement:

“Judge Sotomayor will become the Supreme Court’s first Hispanic justice when the Court convenes in October – a historic milestone in our history, to be sure – but many Americans still are uncertain about her legal views, especially regarding the Second Amendment."

And, he added, "The president nominated Judge Sotomayor because she shared his belief in judicial ‘empathy.’ Many have questioned how such a justice would decide cases that come before the Supreme Court. Now we will find out, and the American people will be able to decide if that is the standard they want in future Supreme Court nominees.”

Folks, why do you see everything in terms of race? Nazis did that and look what happened to them. Steele is mouthing off to bad mouth Obama, that what Republicans do. What is hilarious is that this woman was appointed to the bench by Bush senior and okay-ed by the republicans in congress at the time. This woman is not a liberal, she is a moderate judge who doesn't lie about how she comes to her decisions anymore than any other judge. At least this way we get a little more diversity than all Harvard males on the court. Perhaps the court and country will avoid another Drege Scott decision in the future but I won't bet on it as it has never actually reversed that decision.

Michael Steele is a sad Afro-American who thinks he is White. He's being used by the Republicans as a "flunkie" and he's not intelligent enough to realize it. It's sad to be known as non-intelligent by everyone but yourself. It's like a comedian trying to be real serious but doesn't have the knowledge to come across as such.

When will Steele wise up and realize that he's just being used? Steele has to know that he's just a token so republicans can claim they LOVE minorities, as long as they know and stay in their place.

Gee, I didn't know Steele was endowed with the gift of mind reading. And she'll become the first hispanic justice when she's sworn in, not when the court next meets in October.
