I'm a vet ,and I'm an Independant voter ! What have the democrats done for vets lately ,,,besides try ,and put a bunch of garbage in the military spending bills ? I don't think puting anti-Republican junk in your blog statement will cause all the vets who Washington has made pay for their clothing ,meals ,board ,and anything else they have thought up thru the years will cause these vets to vote Democratic ,so out with your Republican dig on here Mr ! The vets in this country deserve this break for their service! Looks like someone in Washington finally got it right to a degree ,,,now I just hope they don't make our vets jump thru hoops to get this help like it always is !

Different cases. High school should teach economic survival skills, the military should offer civilian transition skills. HISTORY should be taught as the confused uncertain present it was and is.
$3 Billion to help how many and how? Where? In what way?

Oh, I forgot one, an important one: Veterans face an additional handicap in that lots of manager/executive types find their presence obnoxious because their label of "veteran" reminds them of the fact that they, themselves, did not serve.
Perhaps that will not be so bad, now, because there is no draft, and so the additional guilt load from memories of the awesome amount of effort some put into evading the draft will not be turned against the veteran.
One can hope, anyway...but regardless, one thing the veteran knows or learns:
Their employer and managers will all too often be loudmouthed chickenhawks of the quintessential Republican type; the ones who stay home and learn to play office politics while others serve, with the result that the veteran always ends up working for those of his or her age group regardless of the former's competence or the latter's incompetence.
All members of our military should have exit interviews where the need not to let such get under your skin - no matter what they say - is emphasized.
lollll...particularly, don't deck 'em.

Cool.
I know a lot of veterans have a hard time learning to cope with corporate America, where you aren't simply given a mission and expected to accomplish it, but instead must carefully weigh who failed at the task before and will be offended if you do too good of a job, and who is likely to commence stabbing you in the back if they feel your performance represents a threat to their own opportunities or the kingdom they've built for themselves, or...
So they don't - can't - play.
