Shoshana Jones, ex-Iraq War POW, now suffers from PTSD and the problems with her disability rating. She's written a book about the event, and how it felt to play 2nd fiddle to fellow captive, Jessica Lynch. [Bradenton Herald]

Photogenic is the key word here. White, blond and pretty. Lynch is a good person I'm sure, it's not her fault who they chose to photograph. Have you ever noticed there are no unattractive people on television? The Army wants heros. Nice looking heros are even better. The army doesn't put unattractive soldiers worn out from combat on recruiting posters.

Remember, the MSM can only report what the Military feeds them. Remember Pat Tillman's "brave fall in the line of duty against Al-Qaeda operatives" which turned out to actually be death by 'friendly fire'? What about Lynch's "rape", that, with her injuries, would have killed her if it had actually taken place. And what about her "daring rescue" from the Iraqi hospital, when, shortly before, the medics there had attempted to return her to allied lines, only to be driven back by our gunfire?
Who was it that said, "The first casualty is war is truth"?

Why is the military being held accountable for what the media CHOSE to print? Johnson was always available - The media chose to focus on Lynch.

The Bush administration and the Pentagon used Lynch to both horrify and titillate the American public with false reports of her having some kind of amazon-porn gun battle with rapacious Iraqi thugs. She happened to be white, blonde and pretty, so the DOD went on a field day.
They got the "rapacious" part right.
Private Jones was not white or blonde, so she got tossed under the bus by our MSM. It's a rotten shame to use our soldiers this way.
