Colombia: land mines

World leaders have been trying to slow the dastardly destrucion caused by land mines. I witnessed these efforts in Chile and Ecuador three years ago while on assignment for the Miami Herald.

But the destruction continues, as Bloomberg describes in Colombia. The guilty party: The FARC.

We can only hope that this maiming will end one day. But I don't think we should expect it anytime soon.
