FYI - Rich is a partisan of the left. It would be NEWS if someone not of the left endorsed McClatchy. Your respect amongst lefties wasn't really of question.

Superb interview -- amazingly, Matthews didn't interupt constantly. Your fact-filled responses, plus citing numerous sources, were really heartening to watch, as for so many years it's felt like the news has been one big Hall of Mirrors.
Many thanks.

Hi Strangely Enough: I logged on to congratulate my colleagues on the NYT mention, and I saw your comment. You raise an excellent question. I imagine that it is some combination of both. More than anything, Maliki and Odierno's reaction told me how truly fragile the situation is, both in terms of the security on the ground and how Iraqis receive U.S. troops on their soil. That was how I read it anyway.
So with that, congrats Warren and Jonathan. And dear readers, you can watch my colleagues on MSNBC in about five minutes!

The article on the Maliki connection to Obama's decision to not release the photos was informative.
My only question is: would the release of the photos actually cause an increase in violence as claimed, or is the real fear that the photos would doom any long term U.S. military presence in Iraq?
They didn't build all those bases to leave...
