Attorney Mark Zaid, who is representing Jane Doe in the underyling case Jane Doe v. Doe Agency, writes to advise that the earlier item is incorrect. In fact, Mr. Zaid notes:
"Different cases! The CIA was never a Doe agency in that SDNY lawsuit, although there is a yet still unidentified Doe agency in the case."
What is this referring to? Read on...

Mystery solved, maybe. And the inevitable answer is: the Central Intelligence Agency.
Suits & Sentences was trying, with all kinds of huffing and puffing, to find out earlier the identity of a government entity dubbed the Doe Agency. The Justice Department had succeeded in keeping secret the agency's identity, amidst several lawsuits and an appeal. The latest case, Jane Doe v. Doe Agency, was filed by the spouse of a former Doe Agency employee.
Try Googling, alert reader identified as 'reasoncare' suggested. Doh!
The plaintiff's attorney is Mark Zaid, well known for litigation involving the intelligence community. With the search terms Zaid, Doe Agency, wife, a January 2007 article appears in the New York Post that seems to fit the bill. Reporter Katie Cornell wrote:
"The wife of a fired CIA operative is blaming the feds for driving her to the brink of insanity with her hubby's spy activity - and then barring her from therapy because she was unable to complain to her shrink about his secret orders.
But the woman will never have her day in court. The feds convinced a judge her complaints are classified."
The article is worth a read. And this new-fangled Google thing sounds like it's worth a look...
