"Sex and the City" star Kristin Davis got unexpectedly bogged down in Arab-Israeli politics and has come out muddied.

Davis has become the focal point of a new international boycott campaign, "Stolen Beauty," that targets Ahava, the well-known Israeli company that produces beauty products made from Dead Sea mud and minerals.

"Stolen Beauty" targets Ahava because its factory is in a West Bank settlement near the Dead Sea.

Ahava is drawing particular fire for labeling its products as "Made in Israel" when they are produced in the West Bank.

"Don’t let the 'Made in Israel' sticker fool you—when you buy Ahava products you help finance the destruction of hope for a peaceful and just future for both Israelis and Palestinians," the "Stolen Beauty" Web site states. "Ahava puts a pretty face on its crimes, even paying Oxfam Ambassador and 'Sex in the City' [sic] star Kristen [sic] Davis to be its spokeswoman."

The controversy led to reports this week that Oxfam was severing its ties with Davis.

In a statement to the New York Post, Oxfam said: "Kristin Davis has done great work for Oxfam and we highly value her commitment as a supporter . . . Oxfam remains opposed to settlement trade, in which Ahava is engaged. Both Kristin and Oxfam do not want this issue to detract from the great work we have done in the past and plan to do in the future."

But the Post's cross-town rivals at the New York Daily News say otherwise.

“Kristin Davis remains an Oxfam ambassador and supporter," Oxfam told the Daily News. " Oxfam values its on-going relationship with Kristin very highly. The NYP headline is inaccurate."

Whatever the case, the "Stolen Beauty" campaign is likely to retain its focus on Davis until the issue is resolved.

"Kristin Davis and Oxfam appear to have come, at some point, to a private understanding that she will not do publicity for Oxfam during the remainder of the term of her contract with Ahava," boycott activists said. "When was this secret deal between Oxfam and Davis reached? When will her contract with Ahava end?"

"In the absence of a clear picture of Davis and Oxfam's deal, peace activists around the world will continue to highlight the tragic ironies of Ahava's use of Oxfam's goodwill and image through its sponsorship deal with Kristin Davis," said the activists. "Oxfam is a global leader for peace and justice—let’s not allow its deal with Kristin Davis to distract from and sully its heroic work!"
