Checkpoint Jerusalem was written by Dion Nissenbaum, who covered the Middle East as Jerusalem bureau chief for McClatchy Newspapers from 2005 to 2009.

Just to clarify a point:
I , Heidi Levine, the photographer featured in this blog and video was not breaking a tight pool but was a member of the pool for the Foreign Press Association . I was told to be there TO PHOTOGRAPH the Pope's visit not stand aside and watch it go by.
