Remember all that pre-election Obama anxiety in Israel?
Fuggedaboudit.
These days, it seems like everybody wants to catch some of the post-election Obama glow.
Of course, there was the Lost Bedouin Tribe of Obama in northern Israel that made tenuous claims of a blood link to the president-elect.
And there are the various Israeli political parties appropriating Obama's message in their own campaigns.
But probably the best bit of Obama-envy comes from Sagiv Assulin, an aspiring, 30-year-old candidate running on the center-right Likud Party list in the November parliamentary elections.
As part of the internal party campaign, Assulin's supporters produced an homage to the world-famous Obama Girl by creating an Israeli version of the "I've Got a Crush on Obama," video by Amber Lee Ettinger that has been viewed at least 12 million times on YouTube.
You can watch the original, below, and then, below that, watch the homage by Israel's "Assulin Girl."
"Assulin Girl" has only gotten 6,000 hits on YouTube so far, but, if you take into account that Israel only has 7 million people, per-capita, she's not doing so bad...
(By the way, Assulin ranked 33rd on the Likud list, a position that puts him on the cusp of winning a seat, depending on the vote in November.)

That's hillarious! And it's such a shitty imitation of it too. Guess money can't buy you a gorgeous latina-esque chickita with a hot body. Erm. Not in Israel, anyway.
