Yesterday was another bloody day in Iraq. Dozens of people were killed and more than two hundreds were wounded. Most of the victims were civilians. I talked to one of the survivors, he said he was just sitting with a group of his friends in the garden near the Iranian embassy because he doesnt have any job. He is one of the thousands unemployed Iraqi young men.
Unemployment is one of the sources of terror in Iraq. Militias and insurgents' groups depend basically on unemployed people using them to achieve their aims. May be the young man I saw was lucky to survive from both insurgents groups and death but other are not. in spite of the promises made by all the government to improve Iraqis lives and provide work opportunities, nothing really big had been achieved on ground until now. That means more easy tools for insurgents groups and militias will be provided which means more violence and more bloody days.
Few days ago, We received an email from the media office of the ministry of industry saying the minister had met delegations of French companies in different fields. Among these companies, the minister met with agricultural companies. The two sides discussed the abilities of improving agriculture in Iraq.
If such an agreement happened and activated, it would provide thousands of work opportunities especially for the young men which by time dries terror gradually.
I wish the agreements with the French companies completes and our ministries take such good step like the ministry of industry in order to fight the real enemy, the unemployment.
