In spite of the continuous sound of the explosions, people in the west part of Hurriyah neighborhood walked to the election centers in groups. many of the families brought their children with them. Many of the children insisted on participating in the election even if they do not have the right to vote. They insisted on coloring their fingers with the purple ink of election. Many mosques urged the citizens to go voting in spite of the bombing and the news about the casualties.
Reaching the voting center requires to pass through three searching points made by the Iraqi Police, the Iraqi army and a the last stage is to be searched by IHEC employees (Independent High Electoral Commission .
Inside the voting centers, another mission should be accomplished before voting, a voter should find his or her name printed on the lists. After checking the name, the employee of IHEC deliver the voter the voting ballot.
In spite of having my IHEC badge, I had to wait for about twenty minutes to get a permission to enter the elections centers. After the hard instructions of the security forces who prevented me from taking pictures for any security forces, I was allowed to go inside the voting center. While I was walking with one of the employees of IHEC, two soldiers came towards me running and asked me to leave the center quickly. They were trying to confiscate my camera but the soldier who was joining me told them I did not take any picture inside the voting center.
Mohanned Al Shimmari, 37 years old man said "I did not really want to participate in this election because I do not trust any of the Iraqi politicians. They care only about their interests but my friend visited me few days ago and asked me to vote for his uncle who is a candidate in one of the big lists and this is the main reason for my coming, its to support my friend .
Um Mstafa, a 43 years old women was busy with cleaning her finger from the ink while she was leaving the voting center. She voted for the PM list saying " I voted for Maliki because he is the best among all this big number of candidates. He had enough and Im sure he will work hard for Iraqis if he had another chance."

yeah, that's true.
