Ayn al Iraq, an Iraqi group for monitoring elections, announced projections for the results of the March 7 parliamentary vote. The results are consistent with the predictions of most political observers, with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki's bloc in the lead, followed by the coalition headed by former premier Ayad Allawi, and then the main Shiite Muslim ticket coming in third.
Those results, the group said, hold for Iraq's 15 Arab-majority provinces. Results weren't yet available for the mostly autonomous Kurdish north, with three provinces.
The group's projections are based on text-messaging polling of 25,565 voters, from a variety of ethnic, sectarian and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Here you will find Ayn's projections of the results and the first three winning blocs in each of the 15 provinces.
The results are categorized by the names of the three main political blocs leading the race to the parliament. They are:
The first: State of Law, led by Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki
The second: The Iraqi National Alliance, a grouping of mostly Shiite factions backed by Iran
The third is: Iraqiya, led by Iraq’s secular Shiite former prime minister Ayad Allawi.
Below you find Ayn's predictions and I will add to it number of seat and the turnout announced by IHEC (the electoral commission) for that province.
