According to the Iraqi Integrity commission: 37 percent of the Iraqi parliament members presented their financial disclosure, a step required by law to all officials. The commission, Iraq’s watchdog to counter corruption, announced in a press release the names of these parliament members.
In 2008 none of the parliament members presented these disclosures and in 2007 only 14 did come forward out of 275 parliament members.
In 2009 our president submitted his disclosure for the first time in Iraq’s republic history.
I do recognize improvement but wait a second….
The president, Jala Talbani, chose the last year of his term to present his financial disclosure not on his first year?! And also the parliament members did the same.
