Iraqi secular parliament member Mithal Al Alusi said that the Iraqi prime minister told the Iraqi parliament on Thursday, in a secret parliament session after Tuesday’s deadly bombings, that the Americans tipped-off the Iraqi government about the looming threat of car bombs attacks around 6 a.m. on Tuesday.
On Tuesday Dec 8, five car bombs killed 127 Iraqis and injured more than 450 others in Baghdad as it targeted government offices around 10 a.m.
On Saturday, Iraqi ministry of interior said it informed Baghdad military operations, the Iraqi special command formed by the prime minister to lead security operations within Baghdad, of the imminent attack, yet the attacks succeeded in reaching its target.
Two of the suicide car bombs attacked the substitute locations of ministry of finance and Iraq’s highest appeal court that their original buildings were devastated in earlier attack in August and October.
The two warnings gave different time of the attack and specified accurate locations for the attacks. Yet after four hours of receiving the warnings, the attacks took place in the same neighborhood not at the same given coordinates.
Late Saturday General Qassim Atta, the spokesmen for Baghdad operations, said that the American warning was dispatched immediately to Iraqi troops five minutes after receiving it but the tip was not accurate as it gave different types of cars than the ones used in Tuesday’s attacks.
Earlier Saturday, Iraqi parliament summoned Iraqi ministers of defense, interior, national security and head of the intelligence to answer questions about Tuesday bombings.
Iraqi minister of defense accused Syria of sending weapons to Iraq and told the parliament that his forces seized caches of Russian weapons that came in from Syria.
“I demand him to resign” Al Alusi said addressing Al Maliki in a televised interview.
The American and Iraqi tips gave specific coordinates for the targets that Atta said it wasn’t accurate, like Al Mansour neighborhood, and different timings but it was all confirming the attacks will take place on Tuesday.
Atta told Iraqiya TV that the Americans tip said the attacks will take place between 0800 and 1800 but the Iraqi warning said the attack will take place in the afternoon, Atta continued but Tuesday attacks were at 10 a.m.
On Tuesday about 600 Iraqis were killed and injured. Couldn’t the Iraqi government impose immediate curfew and start searching for these car bombs and stop them from killing civilians?!
(Mr. Atta: Maybe next time the Americans and Iraqi interior and intelligence will ask the suicide bombers about more specific time and ask them to show up on time)

I guess in this way we can figure out how Iraqi officials are impudent. For Atta himself has nothing to do more than giving useless speeches just like his P.M.
