How to stop a suicide bomber driving a car bomb or wearing a vest bomb inside cities?!!

If he manages to reach his target, then you lost, civilians are killed.

If he fails to reach his target and detonate before reaching his target, you lost, civilians are killed.

They are not afraid of dying, they want to die! They are determined to kill as much civilians as they can! And there are, apparently, many of them who are not weakened and still willing and capable of killing hundreds of civilians.

Many of our brave men and women serving in the armed forces sacrificed their lives and used their bodies as a shield to protect civilians in so many incidents yet most suicide attackers succeeded in reaching their targets.

The dilemma remains: How to stop bombers?!

The point is suicide bombers must be stopped before leaving their hideouts and to do so the state needs better intelligence.

This was the debate for the last month.

In a breaking news on the government funded satellite TV channel Al Iraqiya; Baghdad Operations Command reward a citizen 100 million Dinars ($85,000) for informing authorities of a car bomb in Al Jameaa neighborhood west of Baghdad.

In 2009 security improved, that is true. But at the same time suicide bombers managed to destroy government offices in central Baghdad three times. The three attacks took place in August, September and December, 2009. The three eattcks resulted in killing hundreds and injuring about two thousand citizens.

After December attacks, the rewards system was a demand presented to the government and the parliament by Iraq’s defense minister Abdul Qadir Al Ubeidi. He thinks this will, at least, limit the freedom of movement of the terrorists and wanted criminals.

Better intelligence comes from bigger rewards.

The efforts of the Iraqi and American military in the past few years managed to reduce violence but never stopped it. Rewards helped capturing Saddam and before that, killing his two sons and the rewards never stopped, at least those given by Americans, but the new improved reward system will be Iraqi and maybe the $85,000 will be given a lot just to bring more reports. 

I hope this amount of money will help that citizen to change his address or to do something to protect him and his family.

Probably we will hear of more rewards in the coming few days, I am hoping to hear less about car bombs killing civilians. And hoping that corruption will not fail this attempt!
