Since the first day of forming the new Iraqi army, the recruited soldiers go to the local market in downtown Baghdad to buy and design their own uniform according to the model every soldiers like.

About two years ago, I told a high rank Iraqi officers after one of the press conferences I attended that I could provide a full Iraqi army brigade with the military uniform from the local market. I showed him my concern about this point exactly and explained to him what kind of serious mistake it was because any insurgents group can make as many uniforms as it needs for their members and do any insurgency under the name of the Iraqi army. At that time, the officer told me that the ministry knows about this issue and it was working to find a good solution. When I asked him how, he refused to answer saying "this is our business but thank you for your concern. " At that, I did not really care about the army uniform. All I cared about was the innocent people who were killed by insurgents wearing the Iraqi military uniform.

Today, A new crime happened in Iraq. 13 people were killed by gunmen who were the uniform of the Iraqi army. The Iraqi military sources confirmed the news. All my sad memories about the innocent people who lost their lives came back at once to my mind. Also, I realized that the promises of solving this issue were not more than lies that were revealed one more today.

I am still waiting for the day when our officials say they did something real not promises. Until that day comes, I can expect more pain and suffering for me and all those who seek a safe and peaceful Iraq.
