In Iraq, we have five different security departments. the ministry of defense, the ministry of interior affairs, the ministry of the national security, the advisory of the national security and the intelligence agency. Yet, many bombs happened during only few days in Baghdad and other provinces. I know it is not easy to control the security situation completely but I don't really understand how this big number of explosions happened in few days with all these security forces. People started feeling afraid of returning back to the 2006 and 2007 days when the sectarian violence swept the country.
Some Iraqis believe that the main reason of the last violence wave are the detainees who were released by the American forces while others believe that alQaida returned back after almost two years dormancy. Regardless the real reason, the wave brought nothing but more sadness and sorrow to the Iraqis families that lost their members in the explosions. The strange thing is what our government does. The government did nothing but consoling the families of the victims without investigating with any security official about these security violations.
Hopes of having new Iraq fade day by day. The only hope we have now is the prayers of good people everywhere.

My prayers are support are with you. I hope you can truly find peace in Iraq.

You all are in our prayers everyday. As Hanna (above) said so eloquently - we (Americans) love you and want you all to have a better life. Our intentions were good as we came into your country, but achievements have been less successful.
I have just found your blogs tonight - they give us a personal connection with you and your concerns. Please continue to share with us.
You all are in our prayers. And thru prayers, we will see change.

I will 'hold you in the light' as they say at my church.
May God hold you in his heart.

What an odd thing for the govt to do. I wonder why.
Meditating for peace in Iraq daily and for the safety of her people. All the best to you and yours, dear Laith.

My heart goes out to the people of Iraq. I can't speak for all Americans, but I know that many of us love you and are infinitely apologetic for the damage we've done to you, continue to do to you and will probably continue to do in the future. It is our shame that you are harmed in any way.
This isn't about asking for forgiveness, just saying how much we love you, how much your safety means to us, how much we want you to live your lives the way you choose without any interference from anyone. You deserve better, so much better, so so much better than anything we have to give.
Peace to all Iraqis. May those lost be remembered forever in our hearts. May those who go on go on in strength and dignity. The world cares about you because you deserve the love of the world.
Much love to the people of Iraq.
