When I was teen, I used to feel so excited to watch the movies of the knights especially King Richard and how do they gather around the round table saying “one for all and all for one).
As a teen, I used to feel so happy because at that moment I realize that things would be really fine and the bad guys would die for their evil. My point is the slogan of one for all and all for one.
While I was coming to work, our mini bus was stopped to open the way to his majesty the Iraqi official (I don’t know whether he is really an official or not). 10 four wheel drive cars passed quickly and among them the car of the official, a 4 wheel drive car with black glass in order to hide the face of his majesty. 4 men were in each car carrying weapons. One of the 4 men in each car carries a big machinegun pointing it towards us, I mean all the stopped cars not towards our bus only. One of the guards shouted at our driver “you the owner of the KIA bus, don’t move”. Well, the man didn’t move an inch so why this guy said so, I was asking.
They passed quickly and thanks Allah for the safety of the official. I don’t know how the Iraqi government can manage this country without this great official. It looks that he is so important that 40 soldiers guard his car. We also participated in guarding his majesty because we opened the street when we stopped and allowed his majesty convoy passing safely and if an IED exploded, it would hurt us not him because the explosion would affect his fast car as much as it would do with our stopped cars.
So I believe we are really now the knights of his majesty, the Iraqi official and all really worked for one but would ever this ONE work for all? I completely doubt it because he didn’t ever know what the word ALL means and the only word he really understand very well is the word ONE.

Mark, what is it about Sweden that's a problem for you?
Then there's the country that's supposed to "establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE, and secure the blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity...
Sounds like a great place working toward the common good. Oh wait, that's the US constitution. Brush up on your own history, Mark.

This is an excellent and important blog and wish I'd found it sooner.
ljm,
Republicans support "on your own" policies because of the utter failures of socialism and communism based on government control/responsibility for wealth and jobs. Do some research on Russia's economy or the unemployment levels in communist/socialist countries. If you really "cared" about people you'd look at the history of policies before electing people that want to implement them.
Communism - 100 million dead but lets give it another shot? I don't think so.

I am a Chinese girl living under safe and comfortable living conditions. I can't image what your lives look like. All of the journalists are really the heros in my eyes. Hope that Iraq will find out his peace as soon as possible.

I totally agree with you. These officials have no idea about what's going on outside and how the people are suffering. They keep their families in neighboring countries or Europe or other continentals while they are hiding behind blast walls and protecting by dozens of guards.
They have electricity and water all the day...they never sleep on the roofs to escape the extreme heat...they never wake up and find that there is no water in the taps.
Like three weeks ago, I experienced the same thing as a man, who was inside his car next to me got his head out as one of our majesty officials was passing by quickly as usual and shouted: "you bastards are useless, you don't know how to bring electricity and water to us, you know only how to piss off us on the roads."
I always wonder what these officials tell themselves when they see through their black glass to tens of people who get delayed in the streets while they are useless and doing nothing for them.

I understand what you are saying. Here we pretty much have two camps. The Republicans in power have been the group that endorses YOYO (you're on your own) and the Democrats less so. We want those people who support WITT (we're in this together) to be in power. "All for one and one for all." I'm with you, this is how it should be. Maybe we should be in charge and allowed to decide world affairs. Our level of communication is so much better than how the "officials" communicate with each other.
