So if the election were held today, Piper Palin might just win — at least the Halloween costume contest. Piper, dressed as a snow princess, charmed the crowd here, as did baby Trig, dressed as elephant.

Palin focused on the economy and taxes. "Pennsylvania, will ya hire us?" Palin asked the crowd of several thousand gathered at the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport. (Coach Mike Ditka warmed the crowd up. Palin also scored points with the crowd, telling them that the first house she and her husband ever bought was on Arnold Palmer Drive.)
Palin hammered the Obama-Biden campaign on taxes, saying that "his commitment to increase taxes never changes." It's a message that seems to be resonating with voters in Western Pennsylvania. "I'm all for less taxes, that's one of the reasons I'm a Republican," said Ellen Myers, 62.
The 1st house they bought was on Palmer Dr. So. That doesn't make me vote for or against her.
