Harry and Louise, the make-believe couple whose ads helped scuttle health care reform in the first Clinton administration, are back--and this time, they want change.
The couple will be featured in a series of ads that will run through the Democratic and Republican conventions, roughly August 25 through September 5,
The ad will be sponsored by a diverse coalition that includes the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, the American Hospital Association, the Catholic Health Association, Families USA, and the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).
A statement from the groups explain that "the famous couple at the kitchen
table will remind America that they are still waiting 'for a better way.'
"In light of the growing health care affordability crisis in the U.S. and the lack of coverage for many Americans, they will promote health care reform as the top domestic priority for the next President and Congress."
The ads will be formally unveiled Tuesday at a press conference at the National Press Club
