Sen. Hillary Clinton is offering herself up as a dinner date to help pay off the millions of dollars in debt she owes from her failed bid to win the Democratic presidential nomination. For a contibution as little as $5, some lucky person, and a guest, can dine with Clinton and talk with her about whatever they want.
"It sure is nice to have a little more time on my hands, and I'd love to spend some of it with you," Clinton says in a campaign e-mail message announcing the offer. "Would you like to join me for dinner?"
Clinton says the campaign is calling the event a "retirement dinner," not because she's leaving the politcal scene anytime soon but because "we're working on retiring the debt we owe to small vendors all over the country."
It's good that she is being creative in meeting people.
Of course this is a fund raiser, it states so upfront.
If you don't want to dine with her, don't donate.
