oToh, yes I spent 14 years living in different parts of Latin America, and my wife is originally from Nicaragua. My Mandarin is conversational.

Hope you had a great Thanksgiivng. The only problem is actually finding a place where you can cook the turkey in China, as ovens in apartments are so rare.

I do miss watching football, though I actually felt blessed this Thanksgiving not to have to watch the horror that is the Detroit Lions.

Thanksgiving in "China Rises"? How about doing "Ghost Festival" in the Easter Forum?

I won't even go into details of how Thanksgiving commemorates the massacre of 800 Pequot women, children and seniors... you folks can google it for yourselves.

But hey, among these 1,300 million there are, tops, 40 million Christians, and this country does have 56 official languages, so there's room for a turkey or two, even if he's a journalist.

We spent Thanksgiving in Hong Kong for the first time this year, and had a traditional turkey dinner. Your comments were right on and delightful.
