Remember Sha Zukang? He's the Chinese diplomat who rather undiplomatically told the United States last month to "shut up" with its criticism of China's military spending.
Sha was subject of a blog item on this site Aug. 18. There's an audio link there so you can listen to what Sha told the BBC. He's rather blustery.
Well, it turns out Sha is getting a promotion from his current posting as ambassador to U.N. organizations in Geneva. Sina, the Chinese-language internet portal, says this morning that Sha will be given a post as a United Nations deputy secretary general. I bet that will get some attention in Washington.

With the background that U.S.A military spending is almost half of the global military cost, U.S.A shall be the last country to criticize others for military cost.
I totally agree with Sha, and more, since U.S.A is not a polite country to China as many EU members, I agree that China shall keep a strong position.
BTW, if you just translate "shut up" into Chinese, it is not so rude as it is in English.
