The folks over at Open Democracy have two interesting stories on Egypt this week.
Thanks to Marc in Ecuador for the links!
The first one is called "Egypt: the blinkers of expertise" by Tarek Osman, described by the site as "a writer and merchant banker." He takes on what he calls a skewed and formulaic view of Egypt as portrayed in Western media and think tanks. Check out his arguments here.
The second story is "The Arab Future: Conspiracy vs. Reality" by Hazem Saghieh, a senior commentator for the London-based pan-Arab newspaper al Hayat. The rather staid title doesn't do justice to the juicy topic at hand: the highly publicized and closely watched fight between the daughters of Sadat and Nasser, the two former Egyptian presidents. Full story here.
