I;ve travelled extensively around six continents over the past 35 years, and the story about Rana brought to mind a young Israeli woman I met who was traveling in Thailand at the time. This woman was so obsessed with fear about getting robbed that she carried her passport and money everwhere she went, hadn't even gone for a dip in the ocean. We offered to watch her things for her while she took a swim but she couldn't bring herself to do it.She's the saddest traveler I've ever met and it looks like Rana is following in her footsteps.Such an attitude can't help but color a persons thoughts about every aspect of their travels.

Norman, hello??!! Did you notice that your comment has nothing to do with the story? This woman is not a damn tourist obsessed with her things; she is a poor refugee. How insensitive and stupid! Not surprised though; people like you become Middle East expert and give deep insights on the Middle Easts!
maybe that's why you are trapped till your necks in Iraq!
Idiot!
