Are we expected to symathize with somebody who worked with an occupying army ?

Hannah Allam

Sympathy is up to you. A humanitarian worker friend of mine said she gets really frustrated when people try to categorize "good" and "bad" refugees. The fact is, some 5 million Iraqis have been forced from their homes, becoming refugees or internally displaced people. Up to now, there's been no streamlined US, Iraqi or other effort to provide for these folks. Included among them are people like MAK, who helped the Americans. Perhaps others are the families of militia members or insurgents or former Baathists. Many more of them are just ordinary Iraqis caught in the crossfire.

No matter how sugar-coated the story is; the fact does not change that this person betrayed his country and deserves no sympathy nor help. I'm not saying he should have worked with the insurgents; but what I'm saying is that the US forces in Iraq are OCCUPYING forces , whether u liked it or not! AND Refugees can be good or bad, in Rwanda many "refugees" who fled when the scale of power changed direction had too much blood on their hands and regardless to the beautiful words of your aid worker friend; those "refugees" are former killers and potential future ones! The same with your interpreter; he who has no values and is ready to turn in his country fellows and friends to an occupying force is a traitor, those people HAD ONLY MONEY in their eyes!
I hope the Syrian authorities will pay attention to what "refugees" are entering Syria and I hope he'll be arrested and pays for his past deeds, actually it's the national duty of any Syrian who reads such cheap propaganda to help turn him in! Believe me I will do so had I know more about him!
How could we know that he is not spying for the US? What? He won't do it?? I think he'll do anything for money.
Thank you for this story, anyway, believe me it's priceless!

One more thing:

I forwarded your story to every Syrian I know IN SYRIA and asked them to print it and give it to the right people.
It'll be the irony of all times if he gets arrested after you story!

The greatest of medical detectives, the most loving of parents and the most genius of scientists can't seem to unravel the world of autism and the mystery of what may cause it. Now growing numbers of parents and doctors are declaring war to help find answers for the millions not yet touched by it.
